Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data Lookora (the “App”, “we”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We’ve written it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us at info@lookora.app.

Lookora is operated by MetaProject R&D, LLC, 2261 Market Street STE 5524, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA.

The short version

• We don’t require an account. There’s no email or password to sign up.
• Your photos, wardrobe, style profile and chats are stored on your device — we keep no cloud backup of them.
• To generate a result — a try-on, a Full Look, a wardrobe scan, or an AI outfit pick — we send just what’s needed to our AI processors, and we don’t keep those photos after the result comes back.
• The outfit planner can show your local weather using Apple WeatherKit. Your exact location stays on your device; we never receive your coordinates.
• We use anonymous product analytics to understand which features work — never tied to your real identity.
• We do not sell your data, and we do not use your photos to train AI models. Ever.

What we collect

Stored on your device only

The following are kept on your device. We hold no cloud copy of them, so deleting the app removes them:

• Your photo — the full-body photo(s) you use to try outfits on.
• Your style profile — preferences from the onboarding quiz, any notes you write about yourself, sizing.
• Your wardrobe — the items you add, including their photos and cutouts.
• Your try-on and looks history — the generated images and which items were used.
• Your chat thread with the stylist.

These live on your device. Some features, though, need to send specific content to our AI processors to produce a result — the next section covers exactly what, and what happens to it.

Sent to our processors to produce a result, then discarded

The items below are transmitted through our backend, used to generate a response, and then discarded — we don’t persist the images server-side after the result is returned:

• Try-on: your person photo + the garment photo are sent to our AI image provider (fal.ai) to render the outfit on you.
• Full Look: your photo — and, on the “bring your own look” path, an inspiration image you supply — are sent to fal.ai to compose and render a complete head-to-toe outfit on you, including face compositing so the result looks like you.
• Wardrobe scan: when you scan an outfit to add it to your closet, the photo is sent to Anthropic (to detect each garment) and to fal.ai (to cut each piece out on a clean background). The detected items are returned to your device; the photo is discarded.
• Chat messages: your message text, plus any image you attach (for example when you ask the stylist to rate your outfit), is sent to Anthropic. We don’t persist the conversation server-side after replying.
• Photo analysis: when you set a new full-body photo, it is sent once to Anthropic to infer general body attributes (e.g. “average build, tall”) that improve recommendations. The text inference is returned to your device; the photo is discarded.
• AI outfit picks & weekly planner: to suggest an outfit or plan your week, we send your wardrobe item details (category, name, colour) and, for the planner, each day’s weather summary and an optional style hint to Anthropic. These requests contain no photos.

Location & weather

The outfit planner can show the local weather forecast for the days you’re planning. If you allow it, the app uses your location with Apple’s WeatherKit to fetch the forecast. This happens between your device and Apple — we never receive or store your coordinates. Only a coarse weather summary (for example “warm, 24°C, no rain”) is included when the planner asks our AI to pick outfits. You can decline location; the planner still works, just without weather.

Anonymous identifiers

• Anonymous user ID: a random UUID is generated on first launch and stored in your device’s Keychain. It survives reinstall (so we can prevent abuse of free credits) and is not linked to your name, email, or any personal account.
• Device identifier: when you redeem a referral, your device’s vendor identifier (Apple’s IDFV) is sent so one device can’t farm referral bonuses. It is not your name or contact information.
• Anonymous product analytics: we use PostHog to count things like “how often is the stylist used vs. the lookbook?” — keyed to the anonymous ID above. We never send PII (no email, no body description, no chat text, no photos) to analytics.

Subscription & purchases

All payments and subscription state are handled by Apple via StoreKit. We do not receive your card number, billing address, or Apple ID. We receive only the anonymous receipt that confirms an active subscription.

What we store on our servers

Aside from the transient processing above, the only records we keep server-side are minimal and anonymous:

• Your anonymous user ID and the device identifier described above.
• Your invite code and referral relationships (who invited whom), to run the referral program.
• Which Lookbook looks you’ve liked, to personalise what we show you.

No photos, names, emails, chat text, or body descriptions are stored on our servers.

Product catalog from third-party retailers

Lookora’s Lookbook surfaces clothing items from independent brands and retailers. We do not have commercial partnerships with every brand we show. We surface only publicly-available product information: the product image, product title, brand name, price, and the link back to the retailer’s page. We do not copy, mirror, or modify product images — they remain served from the retailer’s own CDN where possible, and a click on “Shop” takes you directly to the retailer’s site for purchase.

We do not currently earn affiliate revenue from these links. Lookora is a discovery and try-on tool, not a marketplace, and purchase transactions happen entirely between you and the retailer.

Brand / retailer takedown: if you represent a brand and want a product or your entire catalog removed, please use the takedown request form or emailinfo@lookora.app. We respond to verified requests within 5 business days and remove the affected items immediately.

Third-party processors

The companies below help us run Lookora. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

• Apple — App Store delivery, in-app purchases, push notifications, and WeatherKit (weather for the planner).
• fal.ai — AI image generation: try-on, Full Look, face compositing, and wardrobe-scan cutouts.
• Anthropic — AI text and vision: stylist chat, body analysis, wardrobe-item detection, and outfit suggestions/planning.
• Vercel — hosting for our backend and this website.
• Neon — database for the public product catalog and the minimal anonymous records listed above.
• PostHog — anonymous product analytics.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not use your photos to train AI models. Our AI processors receive your content only to produce your result, under API terms that do not permit training on it.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not show ads inside Lookora.

Your rights

Because most of your data lives on your device, the simplest way to exercise your rights is locally:

• Access & delete on-device data: delete the app from your device. All on-device data is removed.
• Delete server-side records: email us at info@lookora.app and we will delete your anonymous user ID, device identifier, referral records and likes.
• Reset analytics ID: email us and we will disassociate or delete your anonymous analytics record.
• Request data we hold: email us. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Children

Lookora is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and we hold their data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
